What We've Done

2024 / Ongoing

  • Held the second Jell-O Jamboree, with new themed games, live performances, and an outstanding Jell-O sculpture contest.

  • Worked with artist Carmen Lizardo to create “Holding Space for Tenderness,” a cyanotype banner composed of dozens of photographs of local community members’ hands’ holding a cherished object.

2023

  • Worked with O Positive to record audio tours for beloved murals across Kingston.

  • Held the third annual Draw-A-Thon, with prints pressed under a steamroller, a PUGG-made coloring book, and the monstrous Drawzilla.

  • Opened the Neighborhood Print Studio, a new space with open access to printing presses and home of new art workshops and D.R.A.W. events.

  • Ran the Celebration of the Arts Expo, an all day series of workshops tackling art mediums of all kinds at SUNY Ulster’s Kingston campus.

  • Held the second Eco-Arts Week, with workshops and talks from new and returning environment-oriented art educators.

  • Held the Jell-O Jamboree, a fundraiser for the D.R.A.W. with a sculpture contest and an overwhelmingly positive reception.

  • Designed Geometric Stitchdom exhibition of PUGG artwork at Woodstock Artists Association and Museum.

  • Trained with power tools and wood at Unfettered Arts while creating our individual projects.

  • Participated in Art Out Loud, a show of artwork of Kingston Youth at Kingston City Hall.

  • Supported Spring Fest at Sojourner Truth State Park.

2022

  • Worked with Eureka House to create artwork for and curate “Material Heritage,” a show inspired by the beliefs and works of Ben Wigfall.

  • Filmed and helped edit a documentary going over Communications Village and the impact Ben Wigfall left behind.

  • Constructed paper flowers containing little personalized worlds in a project called “Occhiolino” with artist Sophi Kravitz for O+ Positive.

  • Visited Robert Blackburn’s studio and archives in New York City to see his work and learn about his process from those who worked with him.

  • Visited Bard College to see “Black Melancholia,” and SUNY New Paltz to see “Ben Wigfall & Communications Village.”

  • Held the second annual Draw-A-Thon, with a new and improved Draw-A-Ton built with the help of Felix Olivieri.

  • Co-hosted Eco Arts Week: a week of nature-oriented workshops to educate and create ecological art. Had a “Maker’s Day,” our second one in the Eco Arts Week.

  • Visited the Hyde Collection to see “Robert Blackburn & Modern American Printmaking,” and then the Tang Teaching Museum to see “On Their Own Terms” and Ruby Sky Stiler’s “New Patterns.”

  • Worked as teaching assistants in many different art classes and workshops held in the space.

2021

  • Worked with Whoop-Dee-Doo to perform a show.

  • Created the “Draw-A-Thon,” where the studio was transformed into a day-long open canvas for the public.

  • Created multiple murals, from the Int-O Yellow paint drip outside Kingston High School and the O+ Positive Oxygen Mural.

  • Collaborated with the Hudson Valley Bee Habitat for designs for a sculpture.

  • Had a “Merry Maker’s Day;” a series of workshop stations at the DRAW where PUGG members developed and executed the programming.

2019

  • Had classes at the Kingston Library, Reher Center, Boys and Girls Club, MAD Celebration of the Arts, and during the YMCA Summer Camp.

2018

  • Assisted with the art auction of artist Todd Samara’s work in 2018, raising $30,000 in a night.

  • Collaborated with the Kingston Artist Collective from 2018-2019 to host shows.

  • Held a booth at Make a Difference Day.

2017

  • Assisted in Kingston’s Community Day, exposing the “Work of Art” cyanotype mural.

  • Worked with the Ben Wigfall Project, taught by Betty Tyrol.

  • Transformed 591 Broadway into a window gallery.

2016

  • Worked with Int-O Yellow into 2019.

  • PUGG's first gallery at 624 Broadway donated by Ed Kang.

  • Hosted Scott and Amy Ackerman, our first storefront exhibit.
